SAT Practice

I was not able to pull up questions from past dates, but I explored the site and found that you could take practice questions in different categories of the test. The links below will take you to the different sections. You can practice there. You can also sign in for yourself, explore the site and start practicing.

Again, if you sign up at http://www.collegeboard.com/, you can receive a daily email with the SAT Question of the Day. By signing up, you can also track your progress. It's never too early to start preparing. The time for action is NOW!

You can also see illustrations for solving the questions in "Answers Imagined."

10-20-10 -- Idiomatic Expressions

Today's SAT Question of the Day contains an "idiomatic expression." Idiomatic expressions are saying that do not have literal meaning but that are used to convey a metaphoric or symbolic idea.

For example:  School would be a bed of roses without tests and homework.

Practice using idioms to improve your spoken and written English. Often, people learning a new language get the idioms wrong because they don't make sense and usually don't translate into other languages.

For extra credit, write a story using at least five (5) idiomatic expressions. If you are turning in a vocabulary story this week, you may want to include an idiomatic expression or two in your story.
